Profile
I’m Elena d’Aprile; I’m originally from Salento, but I consider myself a citizen of the world.
My passion for architecture began as a child, thanks to my interest in drawing and my curiosity about the spaces around me, both built and natural.
After obtaining my high school diploma in science, I began my university studies at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence, where I earned my Integrated Master’s Degree on 2014-07-17 with a grade of 108/110. My experimental thesis, entitled “Meta-project and Design of a Luxury Hotel in Costa Smeralda”, allowed me to deepen my research into technological solutions oriented towards environmental sustainability, system efficiency, and aesthetic quality.
During my university years, I participated in a design seminar at the Architectural Association in London, working on the development of the masterplan for the Bromley by Bow residential district in the Olympic area.
I also attended a basic course in 3D modeling with 3ds Max and completed an internship at Professor Marco Sala’s Studio Associati MSA in Florence, my thesis advisor, where I began to develop organizational and management skills within a professional firm.
In January 2015, I qualified as a professional architect at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence.
Starting from September 2014, I gained various experiences as an intern and later as a collaborator in various professional firms, actively participating in all phases of architectural design: from the initial concept to the development of the executive project. These experiences allowed me to consolidate my technical skills and broaden my professional vision.
Driven by a desire to grow both personally and professionally, in the spring of 2016 I moved to London for about a month, where I attended an English language school, achieving a B1 level.
Since 2017, I have been the owner of my own architecture firm.
Among my most significant experiences, I include the Erasmus period spent in Madrid (a.y. 2012–2013), during which I obtained a C1 level Spanish language certification. This experience contributed to developing a cosmopolitan vision of architecture, design, and contemporary living.
